Fragments is an audio-visual art project by Can Buyukberber, blending the realms of Generative AI and immersive media. Its debut EP, Fragments - Vol. 01, captures this fusion, weaving together ethereal soundscapes, glitchy textures, and dynamic rhythms. Drawing from a wide range of musical influences, the project pushes the boundaries of digital artistry, offering a richly layered and innovative experience.
In Fragments' second experimental short film, the audio-visual fusion of the track “Chaotic Synthesis” with the theme of chaos explores the point from which everything begins and the source to which everything returns. Adding a layer of complexity and intrigue to the project, the piece invites audiences to ponder the origins and cycles of existence.
"Fragments" introduces experimental short films by Visual Artist & Director Can Büyükberber, venturing into new frontiers in filmmaking and music composition through cutting-edge generative AI tools. This abstract creation explores fresh aesthetic realms, intertwining the soundscape of the track "Ethereal Awakening," forging a dynamic interplay and a gestaltian relationship between tension-laden, ever-evolving fragmented elements and the whole (Watch in 4K).
Through pulsating electronic beats and distorted guitars, Vol. 01 delves into Generative AI as a tool for both sonic and visual composing, inviting listeners to explore future possibilities where technology and creativity converge. Referring to Fragments as "a synthetic rock band" Buyukberber subtly suggests the collaborative synergy between human ingenuity and AI innovation, shaping an artistic landscape that embraces experimentation and evolution.

About the Artist
Visual artist and director Can Buyukberber creates immersive audiovisual experiences that bridge both physical and digital spaces. His practice encompasses experiments with various media, including virtual/augmented reality, projection mapping, geodesic domes, large-scale displays, and digital fabrication. Fueled by interdisciplinary thinking and curiosity that extends to art, design, and science, Buyukberber's work frequently delves into human perception. He explores innovative methods for non-linear narratives, geometrical order, synergetics, and emergent forms. Aiming to craft captivating and abstract realms, he employs increasingly intricate structures that resonate as multi-sensorial experiences, transforming the conceptual into the experiential and blurring the sense of scale and presence across physical and digital environments.
Can Buyukberber's contributions to the interdisciplinary domain of art, science, and technology provide significant insights into the evolving landscape of digital narrative structures. By examining the intersection of human perception with digital interfaces, his work raises pertinent questions about our evolving relationship with technology, especially as we stand on the brink of the spatial computing revolution. As we navigate the nuanced distinctions between the physical and the virtual, Buyukberber's research-based approach offers valuable perspectives on the possibilities and challenges of immersive art in contemporary discourse. Anticipating the future of spatial experiences, his endeavors, which include experimentation with Generative A.I. tools, underscore the importance of continuous exploration at the confluence of art and technology, laying the groundwork for what lies ahead in our increasingly interconnected worlds.
